ATC13 might end up going down as one of the most exciting seasons of all-time. All four title races are going down to the wire, let’s take a look at the scenarios they have to consider:
Overall Championship
Logan McKinzie and Michael Polasek have traded the championship lead three weeks in a row now. Entering the final race, the gap is a mere 5 points in Polasek’s favor. With 10 points separating each podium position in endurance rounds, this makes the championship essentially tied and the final round a winner-take-all. The only caveat here is that McKinzie holds a drop week that is equal to a 4th place finish, while Polasek has none.
McKinzie wins IF: finishes higher than Polasek OR Polasek finishes 5th or worse.
Polasek wins IF: finishes higher than McKinzie OR finishes 1 spot worse than McKinzie + Polasek 6 bonus points + McKinzie 0 bonus points + finishes 3rd or better
Delta Championship
Nate Kerr holds a commanding lead entering the final round, but not an unassailable one. With an advantage of 98 points, J.B. DeJeu would have to crush Kerr at Bathurst. Neither driver having any drop weeks left will raise the stakes extra high.
Kerr wins IF: finishes 15th or better OR DeJeu finishes 17th or worse OR DeJeu finishes 16th or worse + no delta points
DeJeu wins IF: finishes 15th or better + Kerr DNF OR outscore Kerr by 99 points
Overall Team Championship
Like the driver’s title, Yellow Flag Motorsport and Sim Racing Grid have gone back and forth for three weeks straight. SRG holds an incredibly slim 35 point margin for the final event, which will most likely result in whichever team finishing better at Bathurst winning the title.
Delta Team Championship
sYartg has been holding onto the title lead for the entire season, but Yellow Tide Racing has slowly crept up to the back of the frontrunners and trimmed the lead down to just 36 points. Like the overall team championship, this one will come down to one team performing better than the other at Bathurst.
